New hot tub? Congratulations! Is it being installed by a licensed and qualified Alpharetta Electrician who has handled hundreds of hot
tub installations? Can you answer that without having chills run up and your spine? Answers that scare us (and should really scare you)
    are:
    “No, but my neighbor Bill, he’s . . .”
“You know, I’m pretty handy when it comes to. . .”
“My father-in-law does electrical work on the side, and he’ll be in town . . .”
“After all, I am an electrical engineer.”

If you were about to say anything similar, please let us stop you right there!

Grounding. Bonding. Disconnect/Cut-off Switch. Breaker size. Amperage. Panel space. Dedicated Circuit. Main Panel. Spa/Sub-panel.
GFCI protection. Distance. Overhead Clearance. Conduit. National Electrical Code (NEC). The terminology is endless, as are the
nuances of installing a hot tub (safely). This work is best left to a qualified, licensed, bonded, and experienced Alpharetta Electrician.

Did you know that most hot tub manufacturers void their warranties for installations by improper/non-certified, unlicensed, unqualified, or
even non-residential “electricians”?  It’s true. Read the fine print. One reason is, hot tubs require a lot of energy and a dedicated circuit to
the main or sub electrical panel. Skimping on the install can mean not enough power for the hot tub, which causes strain and eventual
break down of the motor. Hot tubs are also susceptible to electrical fires that can completely destroy them (and surrounding buildings).

But protecting the hot tub itself is the least of your worries. Improperly wired hot tubs are dangerous and have been responsible for
serious electrical shocks and electrocutions. Without a nearby (and functioning) electrical “disconnect” or “cut-off switch,” onlookers can
only watch helplessly as a person is shocked, electrocuted, or even drowned (from suction or entrapment of hair or clothing in a hot tub’s
drain or moving parts). A proper electrical installation not only helps in each of these situations, it pretty much prevents the first two.

    Hot Tub Inspections
Did you “inherit” a hot tub when you moved in and want to have it checked out? Have you owned a hot tub for a while but still feel guilty
and uneasy (for not knowing it’s 100 percent safe) when friends and family members use it? Schedule a licensed Alpharetta Electrician
before you take another dip! We’ll complete a multi-point hot tub and wiring inspection to make sure the tub and your electrical panel are
up to NEC code standards and are safe!

    Bonus Tip:
Most hot tub warranties are also voided by “acts of nature,” and this includes lightning. Even if you already have a professionally installed
hot tub, take that last step and get a Whole House Surge Protector installed your main or sub-panel by a Alpharetta Electrician.
